Çankırı Karatekin University Institute of Graduate Studies

On June 26, 2024, with the Presidential Decree No. 8653 published in the Official Gazette No. 32586, the Graduate Schools of Natural and Applied Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, and Fine Arts, which were providing education under our university, were merged under the name Çankırı Karatekin University Institute of Graduate Studies.

Histories of the Closed Units

Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences

The Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences (FBE) was established alongside Çankırı Karatekin University, with the enactment of Law No. 5662, published in the Official Gazette on May 29, 2007. The law was named "Law on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions and the Decree Law on the Cadres of Higher Education Institutions and the General Cadre and Procedure Law Annexed to the Decree Law."

Institute of Social Sciences

The Institute of Social Sciences (SBE) was established in 2007 by Law No. 5662, and its first director was appointed on September 17, 2008. In the 2009-2010 Fall Semester, SBE began its education with the History Department`s Thesis Master`s Program, the Business Administration Department`s Thesis Master`s Program, and the Business Administration Department`s Non-Thesis Master`s Program.

The institute awarded its first graduates in the 2010-2011 Spring Semester with 10 students. In the 2011-2012 Fall Semester, the History Department`s Doctorate Program was opened; in the 2011-2012 Spring Semester, the Economics Department`s Thesis Master`s Program; in the 2013-2014 Fall Semester, the Philosophy Department`s Thesis Master`s Program; in the 2014-2015 Spring Semester, the Turkish Language and Literature Department`s Thesis Master`s Program; in the 2015-2016 Fall Semester, the Geography Department`s Thesis Master`s Program; in the 2016-2017 Fall Semester, the Information and Document Management Department`s Master`s Program; in the 2016-2017 Fall Semester, the Geography Department`s Doctorate Program; in the 2017-2018 Fall Semester, the Sociology Department`s Master`s Program; in the 2018-2019 Fall Semester, the Information and Document Management Department`s Doctorate Program; in the 2018-2019 Fall Semester, the Economics Department`s Doctorate Program, and within the scope of the 100/2000 YÖK Doctorate Scholarship, students were admitted to the Information and Document Management and Geography Department`s Doctorate Programs in the 2018-2019 Fall Semester.

Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (SBE) was established within Çankırı Karatekin University by a decision of the Council of Ministers dated July 24, 2017, in accordance with Article 30 of the Law No. 2809, dated March 28, 1983.

Institute of Fine Arts

Çankırı Karatekin University Institute of Fine Arts (GSE) was established on February 1, 2010, with the Council of Ministers Decision No. 2010/103. The Institute of Fine Arts accepted its first students in the 2017-2018 Academic Year for the Art and Design Department`s Thesis Master`s Program. In the 2019-2020 Academic Year, the Art and Design–English Thesis Master`s Program commenced education. In the 2023-2024 Academic Year, the Cinema and TV Department`s Thesis Master`s Program under the same name began its activities.
